Apostille Services for International Use in Florida

What Is an Apostille?

An apostille is a special certification that makes your Florida documents valid in any country that’s part of the Hague Convention. Common apostilled documents include:

  • Birth, marriage & death certificates
  • Power of Attorney
  • School transcripts & diplomas
  • Corporate documents
  • Divorce decrees & court orders
  • FBI background checks

If your document will be used outside the U.S., it most likely needs an apostille.

Can You Get a Same-Day Apostille?

Yes, but only under certain conditions. Florida has one office that issues apostilles, and it's located in Tallahassee. Here’s what’s realistic:

  • In Person in Tallahassee: You can get same-day processing if someone physically walks into the Secretary of State office during business hours.

  • Courier / Professional Service (Most Common): Your documents can be submitted and retrieved the same day using a professional courier service, the fastest option for anyone not in Tallahassee.

  • By Mail: Not same-day. Expect 5–20 business days, and sometimes longer.

Same-Day vs. Expedited Service

Not every situation needs same-day processing, but you do have options:

  • Same-Day Tallahassee Courier:  The fastest option available. Ideal for urgent international deadlines or last-minute filings that cannot wait.

  • 1–3 Business Day Expedited Apostille: This is our sweet spot between speed and affordability, and it’s the turnaround most clients choose when they need a fast apostille without the immediate rush of same-day service.

  • Standard Processing:  Best for non-urgent needs. Ideal if you’re planning ahead and want the most economical timeline.

Please note, fees vary based on urgency, document type, destination country and overall complexity. I’ll review your documents and help you choose the best timeline that fits both your needs and budget.

Why Clients Choose The NotaryCan for Apostilles

Because the steps are confusing and mistakes cost time. You need someone who understands the process, catches issues before submission and handles everything with accuracy and care. We offer:

  • Document Review Before Submission: I check for errors that cause delays: incorrect notarization, expired seals, missing information.

  • Secure & Fast Submission Options: Whether you're on a tight deadline or just want it handled correctly, I guide you through the right service level.

  • Clear Instructions & Stress-Free Guidance: No guesswork. No confusion. Just a clean, organized process from start to finish.

  • Nationwide Online Support: Even if you're outside Florida, as long as the document originates from Florida, I can help you prepare it for apostille.

How to Prepare Your Document for an Apostille

  • Verify the Type of Document: Some documents must be originals (like vital records). Others must be notarized before they can be apostilled.

  • Ensure Correct Notarization: For personal or business documents, the notarization must be flawless: legible seal, correct wording, valid commission. (If you’re unsure, I’ll review it before you spend money or submit incorrectly.)

If the country requires a certified translation, we coordinate that for you as well.
