Frequently Asked Questions — Notarization Requirements, Accepted ID, Notary Public Guidance & Remote Online Notarization

Please reach us at info@thenotarycansigning.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A notary public is an official appointed by the state government to witness and certify the signing of legal documents.

We notarize a wide variety of documents, including Affidavits, Power of Attorney, Wills, Deeds, Marriage and Divorce Papers, Custody Agreements, Child Travel Consent Forms, Settlements, Notice of Commencement, Release of Liens, Business Records, Joint Venture Agreements, Form 1583 for Virtual Mailboxes and much more! Whether for personal, legal or business purposes, our notary services ensure your documents are handled with accuracy, security and professionalism.

You will need to provide a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport, military ID or state ID, to verify your identity.

We specialize in Remote Online Notarization (RON), offering secure and convenient online notarization available worldwide, anytime. Imagine you’re traveling in a different time zone and suddenly realize you need a document signed right away—no need to wait until you’re back home! With RON, you can connect with us online from anywhere in the world and have your document notarized on the spot.

Remote online notarization allows you to have documents notarized via a secure online platform. You can connect with us virtually from anywhere in the world, making it a convenient option for those unable to meet in person.

Yes. Remote Online Notarization (RON) is fully legal and recognized in Florida under Florida Statute § 117.265, which authorizes notaries physically located in Florida to notarize documents online through secure, state-approved audio-video platforms. Because RON is authorized in Florida and other states, notarizations performed online are widely accepted for Affidavits, Loan Documents, Real Estate Closings, Estate Planning Forms, and other Legal Paperwork used nationwide.

To complete a RON session smoothly, signers will typically need:

  • A laptop, smartphone, or tablet with a camera and microphone
  • A stable internet connection
  • A valid government-issued ID for identity verification
  • Their document(s) ready in digital format

Absolutely. A laptop, tablet, or smartphone will work, as long as the device has a camera, microphone and reliable internet connection.

Not at all. With RON, we can notarize documents for signers located anywhere, inside or outside the U.S. What matters is that the notary follows the RON laws of their specific commissioning state.

Yes! Notaries can assist signers who do not have an SSN for RON. Alternative identification methods may be used to verify their identity, such as biometrics (facial recognition) to match their valid government-issued ID or passport.

We’ve got them covered. We take the time to walk signers through the process step by step. Whether they’re less familiar with technology or just need extra guidance, we make sure they feel comfortable every step of the way.

For customers who prefer in-person service, we provide mobile notarizations across Central Florida, meeting you wherever it’s most convenient and making the process stress-free. Mobile fees may apply, but you can rest assured that we arrive fully prepared and equipped to handle your signing with accuracy and care.

If a document requires a notary, it will usually specify that notarization is needed. If you’re uncertain, consult with the party requesting the document or contact us for clarification.

To schedule an appointment, book through our website or by phone 321-587-6007. For mobile notary services, we’ll arrange a time and place that works best for you. For remote online notarizations, we’ll guide you through the process to ensure a smooth experience. For specific requirements, please contact us ahead of time to ensure you have everything necessary for a successful notarization.

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made after this window will result in the deposit being forfeited. If we are unable to provide the service for any reason on our end, your deposit will be refunded in full.
